That’s a Black-winged Stilt. Very common there and with more pinkish legs than the North American Black-necked Stilt.

Hi Mary, Thanks for your interest in this. BirdLife International is supporting some programs to help Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Christof Zockler is soliciting money for work on the wintering grounds (surveys and education), and The Bird Conservation Society of Thailand needs a few thousand dollars to staff an information booth at the Pak Thale wintering site. I’m getting some more information on these and will be posting on the work and where to make donations soon.
